Current Series: “First Things First”

Making God’s Priorities Our Priorities…

Matthew 6:31-34: Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’  32 The people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them.  33 Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants.  Then all your other needs will be met as well. 34 So don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will have its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (New Century Version)

Join us for this 5 week-series and find out what God says about our priorities!  We’ll look at what the Bible says about putting “first things first”…  how we can honor God in our:
Finances,
Interests,
Relationships,
Schedule, and
Troubles.

See you Wednesdays at 7pm at AYM!

New AYM series, “Rescued from an Ordinary Life” starts tonight @7pm

9.22.10 - 10.20.10

Tonight at AYM we’re diving into a new series entitled, “Rescued from an Ordinary Life.” Over the next 5 weeks we’re going to be looking at “existing vs. living.” So many of us these days, go through life just existing as opposed to living life. We do the things that we deem “normal” because we observe so much of it going on around us, without even thinking twice about it. We become predictable, almost robotic, as we move from experience to experience, minute to minute, day to day, month to month, year to year, and so on and so on, until before you know it, life’s passing you by at a crazy pace…

Sound familiar!? Well, God never planned for you to merely exist, He wants you to live life, and live it to the fullest! Look at what it says in John 10:10, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

God wants you and me to live full, fulfilling, exciting lives! That’s why He sent Jesus, that’s why He does what He does! You may be thinking, well if that’s the case, then why am I, not living a full life?! Why am I so unhappy about where my life is at right now?! You’re not alone either, alot of us are very unhappy with our life sometimes, to the point where some of us pursue all kinds of distractions in an effort to supplement our “ordinary” life. Money, relationships, sex, drugs, drinking, etc. We try to alleveate our life’s “ordinary” boring, unfulfilling status with whatever is available, or our environments deem “normal.”

I believe that just like the bible can tell us about how God wants us to live full, fullfilling lives, it can also show us why we aren’t living full, fullfilling lives at the moment. Instead, living ordinary, unfulfilling lives.

  • 9.22.10 – Introduction
  • 9.29.10 – Watch Out for the Thief
  • 10.6.10 – When God Comes Near
  • 10.13.10 – Living Today with Hope for Eternity
  • 10.20.10 – Life Well Lived

So, join us at AYM, Wednesday nights @7pm from 9.22 – 10.20, and check out our new series, “Rescued from an Ordinary Life.”

What’s next @AYM?! “Do Something” starts 8.11.2010

Don't care what anyone says, belly flops hurt!

Hey guys! This has been an incredible summer so far! We’ve had great weather so I hope you’ve been able to enjoy it! You ready for this though?! The new school year is only a few short weeks away. Summer always goes by so fast huh?! For some of you, this new school year you’re starting at a  brand new school. Some of you are going to college. Some of you are starting high school. Some of you are starting middle school. Whatever grade you’re about to begin, I hope you’re ready, because it’s right around the corner!

I know that statement illicits a vast array of different emotions from all of you. Some of you are excited to go back to school, some of you are nervous or stressed out, and some of you are indifferent about the whole idea…

Our hope at AYM, is that you’re not only looking forward to going back to school, but you’re looking forward to going back to school and making an impact for Jesus! Here’s what I mean. Each year Lilia and I take some of you guys to the DR for a short term missions trip, and the excitement you guys feel is easy for us to see. You’re excited to see the people, you’re excited to communicate to them that there’s a God who loves them unconditionally and wants to change their lives from the inside out, you’re exicted about opportunities to pray with and for people, and as your pastors, Lilia and I love seeing that! We also love watching all of those things happen in the DR, and the change it causes in all of you. It’s amazing to watch, and that’s why Liia and I will always give you guys opportunites to get outside of yourselves and do foriegn missions.

New AYM series, “Refuel” start tonight 6.16.10

6.16.10 - 7.7.10

This 4 week series will focus on not living life on “E.” Most of us drivers know, that more often than not, we’ll drive until our gas light pops on before we even think about stopping to refuel. After all, we’ve got so much to do, and don’t have time to stop! That mindset has even caused some of us have to walk to the “nearest” gas station with a red gas can that assures every car that passes by us that we ignored our gas light for too long :'(

Isn’t that how we view our spiritual tank too sometimes? Are we trying to go as far as we can, before we stop and refuel spiritually, ignoring all of the spiritual “gas lights” that may be going off along the way? Why is that?!

That’s where this series, “Refuel” comes in. Over the next 4 weeks, we’re going to look at why we wait so long sometimes to refuel spiritually, and why we allow ourselves to run on “E” when it comes to our spiritual life. We’ll look at some spiritual “gas lights” that may be on in our lives trying to tell us we need to stop and refuel. We’re also going to look at God’s word for some direction about connecting with God. When we’re living on “E,” as alot of us tend to do sometimes, connecting with God isn’t always easy because of our perspective!

Throughought this series we’ll see that connecting with God is not what we think it is, it’s easier than we think it is, and it’s potential impact is so much bigger than we think it is!

Make a pit stop at AYM Wednesday nights at 7pm, and “Refuel.” It’s never too early for a fill up!
